In January 2015, as part of President Obama’s major shift in policy toward Cuba, the Administration took further action to ease restrictions on travel and remittances.  The potential opening of relations with Cuba is offering hope that some of the current trade  restrictions may be lifted. Although the embargo remains in place, amendments have been made to Commerce’s EAR and Treasury’s CACR that provide additional authorizations consistent with the statutory framework of the embargo. These changes offer vast opportunities for U.S. businesses that are interested in the Cuban market.

Preparing for Trade with Cuba will bring together top experts in law, trade regulation, market research, international business and logistics to discuss the opportunities restored US-Cuba relations create and how to leverage them.

Join NEXCO and Datamyne on Friday, October 9, for this first ever Conference on “Preparing for Trade with Cuba”. During this event, John Kavulich, President of the U.S.-Cuba Trade and Economic Council will discuss where we’ve been, where we are and where we think we want to be…and what is likely. Ted Henken will discuss his new book Entrepreneurial Cuba: The Changing Policy Landscape. Other conference speakers include Ed Wegel, President & CEO of Eastern Air Lines Group, William Lane, Washington Director for Caterpillar, Brendan Cahill, CEO of Datamyne; Steven Wagner, attorney at Fuerst Ittleman David & Joseph; Peter Quinter, shareholder in GrayRobinson and chair of its Customs & International Trade Law Group; Mark Condon, Datamyne economic development specialist.

You will gain valuable insight on preparing your company to begin trade with this island nation.
